Father Christmas

Father Christmas

What do we know about Santa suit?

Father Christmas or Santa Claus is the character of Western culture that brings toys to children on Christmas Eve (24 to 25 December).
According to legend, Mr. and Mrs. Claus live at the North Pole with Christmas Elf who help them making toys and gifts that kids ask.
On Christmas Eve, Santa Claus keeps the gift in a magic bag, mounted on his flying sleigh, pulled by Christmas reindeer led by Rudolph with his red nose that lights the way, and distributes toys to children around the world .
The Santa suit has changed throughout history.
In the ancient representations of San Nicolas de Bari, a tall, thin man, predominantly red and white in their religious dress, with a red coat to toe with white edges, but from the mid 1800s until the early 1900s on many occasions he was represented with green suits.
A mid-nineteenth century, the tradition that comes from the North Pole is created and his way of transport are the reindeer. At this time he was dressed in white and gold.
In the twentieth century, Coca-Cola commissioned Habdon Sundblom to make a more human and believable Santa Claus (1931). He used the red and white colors. It is, therefore, an urban legend that Coca-Cola was the one who dressed Santa as red.
No matter about the colour of his suit, he will always be welcome !!!
Merry Christmas everybody
